The Lonesome Lover

“The Lonesome Lover”

A poem written by: The New Moon Child | S.S.

The lonesome lover wanders
Hither and thither,
Thinking ‘f her every day,
Living in continual fear
And constant worries of
What people might think or say.

The lonesome lover conceals
His profound love emotions,
Though intensifying each day,
Trapped in a conflict
Between his mind and heart,
He fails to find any other way.

The lonesome lover blushes,
Swooning o‘er his lady love,
From a place far, far away,
Dear god! This ascending love
Inflames his desires, with distance
Killing him softly, day by day.

The lonesome lover cries
In the grievous silence of the night,
When on his bed alone he lay,
Praying with a wishful heart
For fate to bring ‘em together,
One fine day!
